Silhouette Cameo® 5: The New Era of Cutting Plotters
Silhouette unveils its latest gem, the evolution of its renowned cutting plotter model: the new Cameo® 5, which introduces a series of enhancements in both design and cutting technology, offering an even more satisfying user experience!

Thanks to its incredible versatility, the ability to tackle projects of various sizes, and its exceptional precision. With Cameo® 5, you can experiment with cutting on a wide range of materials, even with a thickness of up to 3 millimeters. Thanks to the new roller bar, project sizes can vary from 12 centimeters up to 30.5 centimeters. Moreover, you can work with cutting mats of sizes up to 60 centimeters or even extend cutting to 4 meters using material rolls.
Highlighted Innovations
One of the most prominent innovations in Cameo® 5 is its undoubtedly more modern and functional design. The innovative opening system with assisted sliding lid significantly streamlines the material cutting process.
The plotter's cutting technology has been greatly enhanced with two significant updates: the IPT (Intelligent Path Technology) and the optional electrostatic cutting bed. The new IPT cutting technology enables the cutting of extremely thin materials without any damage. The electrostatic bed (sold separately) ensures much more secure material retention, even for lightweight materials, eliminating the need for adhesive mats. However, it's important to note that electrostatic retention is not effective on metals and highly porous or irregular materials, such as crepe paper.
To further improve cutting precision on colored and glitter materials, an enhancement has been made to the registration mark detection system.
Additionally, with the integrated power supply, Cameo® 5 allows you to experiment with new hot foiling techniques using the new specialized tips.
Lastly, the "repeat" feature has been added, simplifying the process of restarting the cutting without the need to reset all cutting settings.
Enhanced Versatility
Cameo® 5 features a new roller bar that offers unprecedented flexibility. The main innovation is the ability to manually adjust the roller block according to the material's size. Material sizes can vary significantly: concerning width, you can cut materials from 12 cm up to 30.5 cm, while length can extend up to 60 cm with the use of a cutting mat or stretch to 4 meters for materials on rolls, as with other models in the series.
Intelligent IPT Algorithm
The new Intelligent Path Technology (IPT) algorithm ensures optimal cutting arrangement, allowing for cutting multiple layers of material simultaneously, maximizing efficiency in repetitive operations.
Electrostatic Bed (Sold Separately)
Compared to traditional cutting mats, the electrostatic bed ensures superior precision by securely holding the working material, all without the use of adhesives. Removing the material from the electrostatic bed is much easier and safer.
Innovative New Tools
With Cameo® 5, a world of decorative possibilities opens up that were not available with Cameo® 4. Thanks to new electric tools, one of the significant innovations compared to the previous generation, you can perform gilding using heated gilding pens and experiment with other new tools.
Silent Cutting
Compared to Cameo® 4, the new cutting plotter operates at a remarkably lower noise level. Improvements to the gear mechanism, now using belts, allow the machine to work smoothly and quietly.
Software and Licensing Options
The Silhouette Studio license allows you to import files in DXF, BMP, or JPG formats. For importing other file formats, paid licenses such as Silhouette Studio Designer Edition, Business Edition, or Pro are available.
